iDirect Technologies (iDirect), a company of Vision Technologies Systems Inc., today announced the first customer deployment of their new enhanced software for the iDirect platform. IsoTropic Networks, one of the premier providers of satellite communications systems, successfully launched the iDirect 7.0 software on their iDirect powered network. The 7.0 software will allow satellite providers to better support diverse customers requirements from a single platform, and maximize their hardware investment.
The latest iDirect software release supports greater functionality such as Mesh networking and narrowband connectivity, as well as greater network efficiency through TCP payload compression, and UDP header and payload compression. iDirect's 7.0 software also supports advanced functionality such as their Global NMS solution which allows iDirect remotes to move from one satellite's coverage to another while maintaining connectivity.
"The 7.0 software release raises iDirect's ability to support customer needs to a new level. A single iDirect Hub Chassis can now simultaneously support the most demanding broadband applications, and lower end narrowband on multiple satellites utilizing a variety of topologies. The ultimate result for our network operator customers is the ability to offer virtually any combination of network applications to thousands of remote sites supporting any mix of customer profiles from a single platform." ~ John KEALEY President and CEO, iDirect Technologies
"At IsoTropic Networks we have always prided ourselves on being a company of "Firsts", and our ability to bring the best technology to bear in support of our customers. The updated iDirect platform will better enable us to meet the changing needs of our customers and deliver the most robust satellite service available." ~ Lynn SALISBURY President, IsoTropic Networks |
